Realizing the Promise of the eClassroom
Creating and Supporting Intelligent (and Profitable) Classrooms
With a well-crafted strategy and diligent execution, vendors who address the K-12 market have a lot to gain. Technology is enabling a paradigm shift in education, and driving huge investments in districts around the country. Not only are schools spending money on hardware, they are also investing in training, service, support, digital content, and curriculum development.
Few technology vendors can meet the need or corner the market without working with outsourcing and strategic partners. The "best of breed" partners in this space will have robust processes, adequate facilities, and capable, certified resources in place to handle every step of intelligent classroom deployment and support. Operational scalability will be critical, as will knowledge of the market. Clearly, some vendors are building momentum in the K-12 market. They can build on that momentum and ensure long-term profitability by adopting a total lifecycle management approach to intelligent classrooms and by "drafting" the best players as they form their teams to service this important new market.
