Challenge
Recognizing that profit margins of hardware and peripherals were becoming increasingly thin, a multi-billion dollar direct marketer of computers and related technology products in the United States wished to expand its value-added services offerings. Although the reseller was already successful in selling enhanced warranties along with its products, it lacked the infrastructure and resources to provide nationwide services for its large commercial enterprise customers — particularly for the installation of new and the servicing of existing technology equipment.
